One of the most popular recipes here at Paleo Spirit is “Basic Paleo Egg Muffins“. Even though I generally do not have a lot of trouble removing the muffins from the metal muffin tins, I know others have. And when food sticks to muffin tins it can be a real pain to clean. But there is a solution…
OvenArt Bakeware
The makers of OvenArt Bakeware sent me some samples and asked if I would give them a whirl with a few paleo recipes and report back with results. OvenArt Bakeware makes quality silicone bakeware and, unlike many silicone bakeware manufacturers, they opt for the highest grade silicone available and use no filler material in their products. This results in great bakeware with nonstick properties that last! One of my concerns with standard metal bakeware, is the fact it is often treated with non-stick coatings containing perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), a labeled a toxic carcinogen by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Not so with this 100% silicone bakeware that is durable and easy to clean.
The first recipe I tried was the paleo egg muffins in the OvenArt Silicone Bakeware – Muffin Pan / Cupcake Pan – 12 Cup Muffin Tin*
The results were terrific. In spite of the manufacturer’s recommendation to oil the pan slightly, I decided to experiment with adding NO oil whatsoever to see how the muffin pan would handle it. Even without any oil added to the pan the muffins came out with complete ease. There was almost no cleanup!
One of the tough things when cooking with coconut flour is losing some of the food when muffins or cupcakes stick to paper liners. In reviewing the cookbook “Cooking With Coconut Oil: Gluten-Free, Grain-Free Recipes for Good Living”* by Elizabeth Nyland I tried the Double Chocolate Cherry Muffins recipe. I decided this would be a great test for the OvenArt Bakeware Muffin/Cupcake Cups*. Happily the results were similar to what I experienced with the egg muffins – no sticking whatsoever. The muffins literally just popped right out of the cups with no mess. And they looked pretty too.
I can honestly say I will never make egg muffins again without this bakeware. They would also be great for making Paleo Mini Meatloaves or Blueberry Muffins. Cleanup is MUCH easier than with standard muffin tins. And if you are making a recipe without a ton of fat it becomes even more important to have a pan that keeps food from sticking.

Egg muffins!
Starting the Whole30 with the family today. These muffins are perfect to keep us on track & how better to cook them than in this lovely bakeware!
Bliss, glory, rapture: something that will get egg things out of the pan! We gave up making mini ANYTHING because of the egg-sticking issue. This looks FABULOUS.
Would love to try these for making breakfast sausages in bulk! So much easier to form and bake then frying in a pan. A bit unconventional, but I bet it would save me a ton of time.
Oh they would be great for coconut flour apple muffins or for almondmeal banana cakes… Would love to have these 😀
I’d love to use the baking cups to make cupcakes and muffins! So pretty.
With 4 kids, I prefer to make muffins rather than bread since it seems to go farther. We love pumpkin muffins, banana muffins and zucchini muffins. Would love to get 100% of the muffin to eat and not leave 1/4 of it in my muffin tin! 🙂
Would love to have them. They look great and I wouldn’t have to use oil. Love it!!!!
I have a question for you. I’m definitely in the market to purchase several sets of these (I’ve been eyeing them for some time now), but I’m having trouble making up my mind whether to get the tin or the individual cups. I would primarily be using them to make egg cups. The tins seem like they would be easier to use, but those individual cups are so darned CUTE (lol, not a great reason to buy them!) Did you find an advantage, one over the other, when actually baking with them and then cleaning them? I could see that the individual cups might have more uses overall (such as using them in Bento boxes), but the tins seem more practical. Your opinion please 🙂
Hmm. Good question. I like both for different reasons. But if I had to pick just one I would probably go with the individual cups – especially if you already have metal muffin tins. This is mainly because you can use them as liners in the metal pans and they are easy to pop in and out of the oven. The muffin pan has to be set on a sheet pan so it can be managed into the oven – not a big deal at all but just the reality. The individual cups can also be used in a bento box which gives them a little extra advantage in my opinion. I’ve only used them to make the chocolate muffins and they did not stick at all. They have more ridges than the muffin pan so it’s possible it might be a little more cleanup in other recipes but I have yet to have a problem with that. I hope that helps. I’m sure you’ll like which ever you pick.
Thanks!
Would love to own a set of this type of bakeware. Thanks for doing this giveaway! I would use the bakeware to make all kinds of paleo things….quiche cups, mini meatloaf cups and, of course, cupcakes! 🙂

I love the easy egg muffin recipe, I mix up the ingredients I put in with the eggs all the time and then I pop them all into the fridge in a Tupperware to grab and go in the morning. Right now I use a metal tin but I would love to have silicone tins and liners because of the reduced chemicals and non-stick properties, plus the colors are awesome!
I’d use it in so many ways :+)
I will use mine for mini meat loaves and egg muffins! Yum!

I would love to use these colorful products in the making of coconut flour goodies.
I’d use this to make life easier. I’m all about health safety- but I stubble if it means using pans/bakeware that is hard to clean. Life has too much going on for clean up to be difficult! I am really excited that this brand exists- and I love that this has NO fillers.

I like to freeze small portions of stuff in small muffin cups and then transfer to another container.
I would use it for making crustless quiche and muffins
I would use these regularly for muffins, mini breakfast quiches, cupcakes and more. Working full time, going to law school at night and maintaining a gluten-free home for my family, I am always looking for cooking/baking supplies to make my life easier while producing tasty treats. I love making mini breakfast quiches for my husband to take to his co-workers so they can taste how good gluten-free, paleo food really is instead of the regular donuts/bagels that they typically bring in…and they are also always a hit in my office!
I love the bright colors of the individual cups and the fact that I could prep them and not necessarily bake them all at one time…and then keep them in tact to transport them or stick in my kids’ lunches for easy portability! I would love, love, love these!! Thanks for the giveaway!!
These are perfect for baking paleo snacks and in fun colors too!
This will make egg muffins much easier since they love to get stuck in regular pans or muffin cups no matter how much coconut oil I use. These days I’m more a fan of egg and meat muffins since my sweet tooth got me into enough trouble :O)
I would love these, especially since my dog recently destroyed my favorite silicone muffin pan!,
I would make rainbow cupcakes and blueberry muffins.
I will use these all the time to make muffins, especially egg muffins which we love!
I will use them to make your egg recipe of course!! thanks for the chance to win.
These would be great to make breakfast quiches or the mini meat loaves (I am trying your recipe no.)

Frittata Cups!
Might even repurpose the cups as portion control in my Bento box.
Would LOVE to bake some Paleo goodies in this beautiful bake-ware!
I’d make some paleo almond joy candies
Silicone molds are great. I have some little leaves for homemade gummy candy and hard lotion forms. I’ve never tried baking with them though. This may not be the best page for a question, but are you going to do more posts on christian yoga?
Hi Rachel,
I have been so focused on food in recent months I have not done more posts on yoga. Are you interested in a particular aspect? I think a lot of others are interested in the topic so I’d be happy to add my voice to the conversation.
Lea
